LSU Vs Arkansas

While we were in Louisiana Nona agreed to give up her ticket to the LSU v Arkansas game and allow us to go while she watched Ella.  We were so glad to finally get to attend our first LSU game in 2 years!
Two of my wonderful friends came and met us at the tailgate and we were able to snap a quick picture of the three of us before we headed into the game.  I have been friends with Laine and Talia since highschool.  Talia unfortunately moved away to Alabama for college, but Laine and I both attended LSU and were in the same sorority.  We have all moved away from eachother now (Talia is in New Orleans in her 2nd year of OB-Gyn Residency and Laine is in Houston) but we do our best to see eachother when it allows.
My camera has a great panoramic feature on it and I tried my best to get a picture of the stadium.  There is nothing like being in Death Valley for a game!  The atmosphere is just amazing!
The winner of the LSU v Arkansas game get "The Boot" trophy and Arkansas has won it 4 of the last 5 years so we were really hoping to get it back and keep our undefeated record!
The final score was 41-17 (though at the beginning of the game LSU looked rough!).  LSU was able to keep their undefeated record and head to the SEC championship in Atlanta (which they have now won and are headed to the BCS championship in New Orleans-just waiting to see who we play!)
It was great to be in Tiger Stadium for the last game of the season and especially with two of our best friends along with Keith's dad, his brother, and his brother's girlfriend.  We had such a blast with everyone!
Two of our favorite people after we had won the SEC West!  Everyone was so pumped up and the atmosphere was just amazing on campus after the game.
Of course Keith and I couldn't take a decent picture for such a memorable moment!  Oh well we tried and we definitely enjoyed ourselves!

Ella Kate's First LSU Game

Saturday LSU played Vandy so of course we had to dress up our newest tiger in some purple and gold!
Ella Kate and her Daddy supporting their team!
Our little tiger!

Luckily LSU was able to pull out a win so it was a great night in the Underwood House!

Happy 4th of July and a few other things...

Happy 4th of July to everyone out there! I sure hope everyone is enjoying a day full of BBQ, Family, Friends and Fireworks! Keith is working today so I am taking advantage of a husband free day by getting some laundry done and relaxing away. Plus it is overcast and hot out there so I am glad to be inside.

I haven't really had anything to post about lately as I don't have another doctor's appt until the 7th so I figured I would just share some things having to do with Ella Kate... including baby shower invitations, clothes, and some accent pieces for her room. So enjoy!
This invitation was from my first shower that I had with work. My friend Aubrey handmade each one and she did such an awesome job!
This is the invitation for my shower in Louisiana in two weeks. My friend Courtney picked them out and did such a great job getting all of the colors of Ella Kate's room into them. I am not sure where she ordered them from, but when I find out I will share it.
Of course it is time to start sharing some of the cute clothes that we have bought the little miss. As there are all kinds of sales on summer clothes right now, she won't be able to wear these little outfits until next year, but I am a sucker for a sale so I figured I would stock up now. Oh I can't wait to put her in these!
Flower Dress - Carter's
Brown Plaid top and bloomers - Carter's
Blue ruffled dress - Polo by Ralph Lauren
And of course a future tiger's wardrobe would not be complete without a little purple and gold! Thanks to Nona (Keith's mom) she already has her game day gear ready for the fall and spring and my SIL found the LSU jersey at Goodwill! She is all ready to start cheering on those tigers!
Here are also a few of my recent find for accent pieces in her room thanks to a little trip to Hobby Lobby! I got the frame for about 8 bucks and the lamp for 12! Oh how I love Hobby Lobby and their 50% weeks! Though I am still trying to figure out how they make any money cause you know people have that 50% off alternating schedule memorized and only shop at those times!
One last thing is a prayer request for my SIL's younger sister Ashley. She is currently hospitalized due to some blood clotting problems and though things are definitely looking up from where they were last week I am sure she still has a long road ahead of her.

Well that is about it for now. I have an ultrasound and check-up on Wednesday so I will make sure to update then with a new belly picture and hopefully some good ultrasound pictures of the little lady!

Happy New Year!

I hope this post finds all healthy, happy, and enjoying the beginning of 2010!

I have so much to post about, but just not enough hours in the day. I am going to try and do better and post more, so be looking for new posts coming from me soon!

Until then Geaux Tigers... they are playing in the Capital One Bowl today against Penn State... keep your fingers crossed for a big win!

What have I been up to???

Well it has been quite awhile since I posted an actual post. Sorry things have been crazy with work and I haven't been home the past few weekends. But now I am back for at least a little while and I even have a few pictures to share.

Last weekend we went to Louisiana to attend the LSU v Florida game. Even though we lost, we still had a great time! If you have never been to a LSU home game, one like this one is the best one to go to! There were over 250,000 people on campus that day, and the stadium was over capacity at 93,000 plus. It was so great!

We went out early and did some tailgating and hung out with friends and family that we have not been able to seen in months.

Here is my and Courtney before we headed into the game. Courtney is Keith's cousin Brad's wife and we are very close. Unfortunately they live and Houston and hopefully one day, we will be able to live closer to them.

Keith and I before the big game. This was before the loss so we were all still happy.

Brad and Courtney waiting for the game to start. This was before the stadium was really full.
One big LSU tradition is that Mike the Tiger is taken around the field before each game. Unfortunately Mike is not very happy about being in the cage, so he doesn't roar like the old Mike used to do, but at least he is willing to get in the cage now.

And here come the Tigers! Can't you see how packed the stadium is. It was definitely obvious that it was standing room only!

Other than the game, and our travels around Texas to visit the family, we have not been up to too much here in the Underwood house.

Hope everyone else out there is having a wonderful Fall day. It is only 60 here with clear skies and I am loving it!

Weekend with the Family

Well for Labor Day, we made the 6 hour drive up to Fayetteville to finally allow Keith to spend more than 6 hours with the nephew. Unfortunately we did not get to leave immediately after work like we planned, but we did finally get on the road by 6 and pulled into my brother's driveway shortly after midnight, exhausted and ready to go straight to bed!

Saturday of course was the first day of college football, which meant that the men in the house were going to be worthless (though I have to say, they did prepare the meals for the day, thanks to the grill). Us ladies decided to do a little bit of shopping during the early games, but made sure to make it back for the Nebraska game and OF COURSE the LSU game that night!

This was Austin's first Nebraska game, and my brother made sure that he was showing his Nebraska pride!

Here he is hanging out with his Poppi. (Yes, we finally named my dad. Though where he got Poppi from we are not sure and he wants to be called Big Poppi but we refuse)

Now this was Keith's first trip to see the little guy since he was baptized in March and can I say someone is obsessed with his Uncle Keith. I don't know what it is but little boys are just amazed by Keith. With Austin I think it is the brown hair. He is so used to being around blondes all the time that he just loves us brunettes.

You see someone just loves his Uncle Keith. He would have stayed on top of those shoulders all day if we would have let him. He just laughed and laughed.

Austin is growing so fast and it is just so much fun to watch him. It is amazing all of the things that he has learned since I last saw him about two months ago.

He now holds his bottle like a big boy. Well that is until someone else decides that they want to hold it for him and then those little hands are non-existent!
He even tried fruit for the first time while we were there. He just loved the orange! This was while we were at Mimi's, which if any of you read Kelly's Korner we all know she loves. I now understand why she loves it! Seriously it was delicious! And if you bring a child with you when you sit down they have a little plate with Cheerios and crackers and fruit! Seriously how awesome is that!
Austin is also learning how to stand up and hold on now! Yes there is a hand holding on to him there. He isn't really strong enough to do it for a long time, so we were a little worried he would fall and start screaming so we figured better safe than sorry!

It was a great weekend full of family and great food and I can't wait to go back again. Unfortunately though the next trip isn't planned until Austin's first birthday in December! I don't know if I will make it that long!

I think something is wrong up at my brother's house...

I received this picture today

Now most people would say... well what is wrong with that... but you don't understand. My brother is the biggest Nebraska fan there is. Not only does he have a closet full of Nebraska gear (and no he did not go there) but he has forced his wife to own probably at least 10 shirts, and poor little Austin already has a ridiculous collection of both winter and summer Nebraska gear. My SIL is from Arkansas and has not only grown up to enjoy Arkansas sports (poor girl) but her dad also played football for Oklahoma State, so she also has that running through her blood.

When this onesie was purchase for Austin, before we knew he was an Austin and not an Abigail or an Amy, I was told that it would never be placed on his body and would most likely be re-gifted to us when the time came for Keith and I to pop out a little one. So imagine my surprise when I received this picture today!

Guess my brother came to the realization that if he wanted his child to play for a baseball dynasty, he was just going to have to allow his kid to love the purple and gold... either that or Austin has outgrown all other articles of clothing!

Tigers WIN!

Not much has been going on here. Keith has been gone working all week and should be back this evening. I have just been trying to keep myself busy with work, the gym, and keeping up with things around the house. I did go and help out at church last night with the VBS decorations and will probably continue helping for the next few weeks until its time for VBS.
One thing VERY exciting did happen this week though... The LSU baseball team was crowned National Champions last night and I am so proud to be a TIGER!

I hope everyone is having a great week, and hopefully the next few weeks will be a little more exciting around here.
